FAQ: selling on Allegro

Daniel Pawłowski · Amazonway · · 6 min read

This chapter gathers the questions that come up most often in conversations with sellers: about the account, listings, commissions, advertising, delivery and foreign markets. The answers are short and each one ends by pointing to the place where the topic is broken down in detail. If you are looking for the whole picture, start with the guide to selling on Allegro. If you have one specific question, you are in the right place.

As of 31 July 2026. The answers are based on Allegro’s Help for sellers and on the sources given in the individual chapters of the guide. Allegro changes rules, rates and thresholds periodically, so confirm the numbers in the current price list and in your own account panel before making financial decisions.

Account and starting to sell

Do you need a company to sell on Allegro?

To sell on behalf of a company, yes: that is what the business account is for, registered against a tax number and going through verification of data and documents. Private individuals sell on a personal account, but in a different mode and without the tools described in this guide. Whether your selling requires registered business activity is decided by law, not by a setting in the service. Details in the chapter on the Allegro business account.

What does account verification unlock?

Two different things happen at two stages. Bank account verification, confirmed with a PLN 1.00 transfer, lets you list offers. Full access to the account, including withdrawing money from sales and selling on foreign markets, is unlocked only by verification of the company data. It is worth starting both in parallel rather than one after the other.

Where do I start if I have several hundred products?

With the listing method, because changing it later costs the most. Allegro gives you four routes: the form, a file (in bulk, up to 10,000 offers), a certified integrator or your own integration through the REST API. If you sell in several channels, an integrator or the API pays off from day one, because stock and prices drift apart faster than you can correct them by hand.

Listings and visibility

Why is my offer invisible despite a good price?

Most often because of gaps in the data, not the price. The offer has to be linked to the Allegro product catalogue, have a complete set of attributes (without them it does not appear in the filters) and a sensible title within the 75-character limit. On top of that come factors outside the offer editor: the estimated delivery time and the account’s sales quality level. We break this down in the chapter on listing and optimizing offers.

Does the offer description affect search results?

Not in the way it once did. The Allegro search engine does not search offer descriptions, so the description works on the buying decision and on compliance, not on ranking. What works on visibility are the title, the attributes, the price with delivery cost and sales quality.

Do I need EAN codes?

For most offers yes, because it is the GTIN that the form uses to find the product in the catalogue. When a product has no code, you choose the “My product has no GTIN” option and look for the card by name. If you sell under your own brand, you obtain codes from GS1; codes from other sources are removed from the catalogue by Allegro.

Fees, commissions and advertising

How much does it cost to list an offer?

Nothing. Listing is free, and the basic fee is the sales commission, charged at the moment of purchase. Costs appear only with a sale, promotion, advertising and delivery.

What exactly is the commission calculated on?

On the product price increased by the delivery cost paid by the buyer, not on the price alone. This is one of the most common mistakes in calculations. When the customer uses free delivery in Allegro Smart!, the base is the product price alone. Rates depend on the category and price bracket, which is why the figure for a specific offer is checked in Allegro’s fee calculator, and we describe the method of calculating margin in the chapter on fees and commissions.

Is featuring an offer just a promotion fee?

No, you pay twice. On top of the promotion fee comes an additional sales commission of 0.75 of the rate in force in that category. With a 10 percent commission, a featured offer therefore costs 17.5 percent in total, calculated on the same base. It is worth treating this as an advertising cost per unit, not as a small daily fee.

How much does advertising cost and do you set keywords in it?

You settle sponsored offers per click and display advertising per thousand impressions, and the minimum daily budget starts at PLN 3 for sponsored offers on allegro.pl. You do not set keywords in sponsored offers: matching is handled by the Allegro algorithm based on the offer content, and phrases and exclusions are specified only in display advertising. The auction and measurement mechanics are described in the chapter on Allegro Ads.

Delivery, Smart! and fulfilment

Do I have to join Allegro Smart!?

There is no obligation, but the Smart! badge influences buyers’ decisions, and since 2 March 2026 they get free delivery on purchases from PLN 49.90 with one seller (Allegro Help). The economics are calculated per product, because the delivery surcharge rises with order value. More in the chapter on Allegro Smart! and delivery models.

When does One Fulfillment make sense instead of shipping yourself?

When your assortment rotates fast and the bottleneck is picking time rather than warehouse cost. Allegro stores, packs and ships, and storage is free for the first 30 days and gets more expensive the longer goods sit, so the service rewards rotation and punishes excess stock. The entry conditions and fees are described in the chapter on One Fulfillment by Allegro.

Sales quality and reputation

How does Allegro calculate sales quality and what changes in August 2026?

Sales quality is a point score for the account, recalculated daily from the last 30 days of data (28 days for the dispatch metrics), with the levels Super, Good, Neutral and Requires improvement. Until 25 August 2026 the maximum is 500 points and the Super level starts at 300. From 26 August 2026 the scale drops to 400 points, the Super threshold to 230, three metrics disappear (Buyer recommendations among them) and two new ones appear, based on complaint handling (Allegro Help). The full breakdown is in the chapter on ratings and Super Seller.

Can I remove a negative rating?

Not on your own. You can ask the buyer to change a rating within 90 days of purchase and reply to it publicly with no time limit. Allegro removes ratings that breach the rules or concern the wrong transaction, but it does not remove them because of a misunderstanding or dissatisfaction with the goods. Offering a benefit in exchange for changing a rating is a breach of the rules.

Foreign markets

Can I sell on allegro.cz and allegro.sk from a Polish account?

Yes. You do not list your offers again, you share the existing ones by adding a delivery method to the country in question. You need full account verification, a sales quality level of at least Neutral when dispatching from the EEA, the buy now format, a link to the catalogue and a translation of the offer, which Allegro produces automatically. The conditions, Smart! thresholds and currency settlements are described in the chapter on expanding to Czechia and Slovakia.

From when do I have to settle VAT in the buyer’s country?

Once you exceed the EUR 10,000 threshold (about PLN 42,000) of combined sales to consumers across all EU countries, counted for the current and the previous year. Above the threshold, VAT is due at the rate of the buyer’s country, and the OSS scheme lets you settle it with a single quarterly return instead of registering in every country (Biznes.gov.pl, in Polish). This is not tax advice: confirm the details with your accountant.

Running the account

When is it worth handing Allegro over to a team?

When the work stops fitting alongside your core business: several hundred offers, daily work on price and delivery, quality metrics, campaigns and foreign markets. At Amazonway we run accounts within marketplace account management, and entry into further countries within international expansion; the scope of the work is shown under Allegro sales management. Honestly: an agency will not change your product, your margin or your stock availability, so if an offer loses on price across the whole category, we will improve visibility and conversion but not the fundamentals.

Did not find your question?

It usually turns out the real question is “why is my account not growing”, and the answer sits in the data: in the offers, the delivery or the sales quality. We will go through that with you on your own account, with no promises about positions or results that nobody controls.
