Allegro business account: registration and verification step by step
Daniel Pawłowski · Amazonway · · 7 min read
Business selling on Allegro starts with a business account: you register it against a Polish tax number (NIP), confirm your bank account with a PLN 1.00 verification transfer, and then go through identity and company document checks. You can list your first offers as soon as the bank account is confirmed, but full access to the account, including withdrawing money from sales, is unlocked only by verification of the company data. The rest of the launch is configuration that is better closed before the first order arrives: invoicing details, delivery price lists, return and complaint terms, and how you will create offers. This chapter of the guide to selling on Allegro walks the whole path in order.
As of 31 July 2026. We describe the requirements based on Allegro’s Help for sellers and its developer portal, with the source given next to each claim. The scope of documents depends on your legal form and on the payment operator’s decision, and the rules are updated from time to time, so confirm the details in the current version of Allegro help and in the form visible on your own account. This is not legal or tax advice.
Business or personal account: who sells as a company
Allegro separates two account types. On a personal account you act as a private individual. The business account is for entrepreneurs: sole traders and people representing companies entered in the business register. Registering a business account adds a data verification step that a personal account does not go through, and a sole trader can convert a personal account into a business one (Allegro Help, in Polish).
The choice of account type is not a marketing decision. Whether your selling counts as business activity is decided by law, not by a setting in the service: a business account is a consequence of being an entrepreneur, not the source of it. If you are unsure about the scale and character of your selling, settle it with an accountant before you list your first offer.
One practical difference shows up immediately: a seller with a personal account listing an item is redirected to Allegro Lokalnie, while a business account uses the full Allegro form (Help for sellers). What that means for the offers themselves, for the catalogue and for visibility is covered in the chapter on listing on Allegro.
What to prepare before registering
Registration moves quickly if the full set of materials is already on your disk. Allegro pulls company data from public registers using the tax number, so the crucial thing is that the entry in the register is up to date.
- An active company and its tax number. The company registered on Allegro must be active, and the tax number must match the registered address; data is pulled from GUS, CEIDG or VIES (Help for sellers).
- A bank account for verification and payouts. A sole trader may use a personal account; all other legal forms activate the account only with a company account (Help for sellers).
- An identity document for the person being verified. A photo or scan of both sides, in colour, with the edges visible; alternatively digital verification through the eDO app or a photo of the face.
- Registry documents depending on the legal form. Details in the table below.
- PEP and UBO declarations and current data in the Central Register of Beneficial Owners, if the payment operator asks for them.
| Legal form | What Allegro requires at verification |
|---|---|
| Sole trader | No registry document; confirmation of identity is enough |
| Civil partnership | The partnership agreement together with annexes |
| Limited liability, general, limited and professional partnerships | Registry document usually not required, but Allegro may ask for the articles of association |
| Joint-stock company | A shareholder list from a brokerage house, no older than 4 months |
| Foundations, associations | Statute, founding act, register extracts |

Registration and activation step by step
- Registration form. You choose the country of business and enter the tax number, then pull the company data from the register with the “download company data” button. After that you create the account and confirm registration by email.
- Bank account verification. You transfer PLN 1.00 to the account number given. You can choose a fast online payment, a standard transfer or a one-off AIS consent for Token.io to retrieve the data. The amount comes back after verification (How to activate a business account).
- Company data verification. You complete the company details, send the documents required for your legal form and confirm your identity.
- Terms of sale. Returns, complaints and delivery. For companies this is not cosmetic but a requirement under the terms, as described below.
- Your first offer. Through the form, from a file (up to 10,000 offers) or via the Allegro API.
Bank account verification lets you list offers. Company data verification gives you full access to the account, including withdrawing funds from sales. An account without sales activation does not list items at all; it can only buy (Allegro Help). If you plan to sell from the first week, start both verifications in parallel rather than one after the other.
Verification: what Allegro checks and why
Verification is not a platform whim. Allegro Finance, Allegro’s payment operator, has a legal obligation to check the data of selling companies under articles 34 and 35 of the Polish Act of 1 March 2018 on counteracting money laundering and terrorist financing (Help for sellers). That is where the level of detail about representatives and beneficial owners comes from.
The same procedure returns years later as re-verification of company data, most often once every three years. You usually have 60 days to complete it, or only 7 days in the accelerated mode. The consequences of ignoring it are severe: Allegro blocks payouts on every account linked to that tax number, and a failure to supply documents ends with the payment operator terminating the agreement and the loss of your ability to sell.
The practical conclusion: company data on Allegro is not a box to tick once at launch. A change of address, of a board member, of legal form or of bank account needs to be updated before the system asks for it.
Configuring the account before your first offer
Four settings decide whether you handle your first orders calmly or in firefighting mode.
Invoices and seller details
When listing an offer you declare whether you issue invoices and of what type (Help for sellers). In 2026 the Polish National e-Invoicing System (KSeF) is added to this: under the Ministry of Finance timetable, KSeF 2.0 is mandatory from 1 April 2026 for entrepreneurs except the smallest, whose invoiced sales do not exceed PLN 10,000 a month; those enter on 1 January 2027 (ksef.podatki.gov.pl, in Polish). Check whether your invoicing system handles Allegro orders in line with that obligation.
Delivery price lists
A delivery price list is a template of shipping methods and costs that you attach to many offers at once. You can create up to 250 different price lists and set delivery methods, dispatch times, the cost of the first item and surcharges for further ones, item and weight limits, and prices in different currencies (Help for sellers).
Returns and complaints
You create return terms in a separate tab and attach them to offers. Allegro states outright that for business accounts the obligation follows from its terms, and that without those terms an offer will not get the Allegro Smart! badge (Help for sellers). Watch the field limits: company name up to 50 characters, street with number up to 35.
Delivery and Smart!
A separate decision is the Allegro Delivery programme, in which Allegro takes responsibility for the delivery process. The programme is not mandatory, but Allegro names it as a condition for the Smart! badge on your offers (Help for sellers). How these choices translate into order cost is calculated in the chapter on Allegro fees and commissions.
A ready account is only half the launch
Selling starts with the offers: attributes, images and the link to the catalogue, and with a larger assortment that is weeks of work. We take offer preparation on.
Integrations and the API at launch
Choose how you will list offers deliberately, because changing it after a few hundred offers costs more than the decision at the start. Allegro gives you four routes:
- The form in the Sales Centre: good for the first offers and for learning the catalogue.
- A file: bulk listing of up to 10,000 offers at a time.
- An integrator: Allegro maintains a list of certified partners, among them BaseLinker, Apilo, IdoSell, Sky-Shop and Comarch e-Sale (certified integrator programme).
- The Allegro REST API: your own integration. You register the application in the developer portal, authorisation runs on OAuth 2.0, there is a Sandbox test environment, and the request limit is 9,000 per minute per Client ID (developer.allegro.pl).
A practical rule: if you also sell in your own store or another channel, an integrator or the API pays off from day one, because stock levels and prices drift apart faster than you can correct them by hand. When deeper automation on the technology side is needed, meaning your own data flows between ERP, store and marketplaces, that is handled by our sister brand Seedlight. The data format inside the offer itself is discussed in the chapter on listings.
The most common reasons verification is rejected or delayed
The list below is not a catalogue of penalties but Allegro’s requirements translated into the situations in which an application stalls. Every point follows from the sources cited above.
- An inactive company entry, or a mismatch between the tax number and the registered address. The data must agree with the register Allegro pulls it from.
- A verification transfer from the wrong account. Companies activate the account with a company bank account, not a partner’s personal one.
- Documents older than allowed. For example, a joint-stock company’s shareholder list may not be older than 4 months.
- An illegible scan or only one side of an identity document. Allegro asks for both sides, in colour, with the edges visible.
- Incomplete representation. If several people represent the company, every person indicated by the payment operator goes through verification.
- No response to re-verification. The result is a payout block and, ultimately, termination of the agreement by the payment operator.
A company from outside Poland: two different paths
Allegro accepts foreign sellers, but the requirements depend on whether the company is registered inside the European Economic Area or outside it.
| Element | Company from the EEA (outside Poland) | Company from outside the EEA |
|---|---|---|
| Bank account verification | Fast online transfer (PL, CZ, SK), standard transfer from PLN 1 / CZK 10 / EUR 1, a bank document or AIS | Payoneer, WorldFirst, LianLian Global, PingPong or a traditional bank account that accepts transfers in zloty |
| Identity | Photo of the document | Video recording of the face; companies from China additionally 2 identity documents and beneficial owner details |
| Company documents | Register extracts issued within the last 4 months | Registry documents with name, address and capital information, together with an English translation |
| Offer limit | No limit arising from registration | A maximum of 500 offers at a time |
Sources: registration for sellers from the EEA and registration for sellers from outside the EEA. On both paths the activation link in the registration confirmation email is valid for 24 hours, so do not start the registration “just before the weekend”.
Checklist: an account ready to sell
The order is deliberate. Each point only makes sense once the previous one is closed.
- Register entry up to date: name, address, legal form, representation.
- Business account registered against the tax number, data pulled from the register, registration confirmed by email.
- Bank account verified with a PLN 1.00 transfer from the correct account.
- Company documents and identity submitted in full and in good quality.
- Return and complaint terms created and attached to offers.
- Delivery price lists ready, with the Allegro Delivery and Smart! decision taken deliberately.
- Invoicing set up, taking the KSeF obligation into account.
- Listing method chosen: form, file, integrator or API.
- Reminders in the calendar: re-verification of company data and document expiry dates.
- Only now offers and advertising: correct offers first, then budget for Allegro Ads campaigns. Advertising a poorly written offer is the most expensive way to find out the copy was poor.
How Amazonway helps here
Account registration rarely falls over on difficult knowledge. It falls over on time: someone has to collect the documents, keep the data consistent with the register, set up price lists and terms, and then answer verification questions on schedule. At Amazonway this stage is called WP 03 Launch in the WAYPOINT framework: we take on the paperwork and configuration so that selling starts within 2–4 weeks of the plan being approved. If you only need the launch itself, that is the account registration service; if the account is to be run afterwards, marketplace account management and full Allegro sales management take over.
An honest caveat: verification decisions are not made by an agency but by Allegro and its payment operator, so nobody can guarantee an activation date or a verification outcome. What we are responsible for is that the application is complete and compliant the first time, and that the account is configured to sell rather than merely “opened”.
FAQ: the Allegro business account
How long does business account verification take?
Allegro does not give a single deadline for every case, because the scope of documents depends on the legal form. Bank account verification is fast and switches on offer listing, while full access to the account, payouts included, comes after company data verification. You will see the current status and any gaps in the seller panel.
Can a sole trader activate the account with a personal bank account?
Yes. Allegro states that a personal account and a business account for a sole trader are both activated with your own bank account. All other legal forms activate the account with a company bank account.
Can I sell on Allegro without a company?
Private selling is possible on a personal account, but it is a different mode: listing goes through Allegro Lokalnie and the account does not have features designed for businesses. Whether your selling requires registered business activity is decided by law and by the scale of what you do, not by a setting in the service.
What is re-verification of company data?
It is a routine check of your data by Allegro Finance, Allegro’s payment operator, required by the Polish anti-money-laundering act. It happens most often once every three years, the deadline for a response is usually 60 days, or 7 days in the accelerated mode. No response means payouts are blocked on every account linked to your tax number.
Can a company from outside Poland sell on Allegro?
Yes, in two modes. Companies from the European Economic Area go through a procedure close to the Polish one. Companies from outside the EEA face additional requirements: video verification, document translations, specified payout methods and a limit of 500 offers at a time.
