Allegro Ads: advertising on Allegro step by step
Daniel Pawłowski · Amazonway · · 8 min read
Allegro Ads is Allegro’s advertising system, in which you pay either for clicks on sponsored offers (the CPC model) or for impressions of display advertising (the CPM model). You can launch a sponsored offers campaign from a daily budget of PLN 3, and whose ad appears is decided by an auction: Allegro weighs your maximum cost per click against the quality of the ad. In this chapter of the guide to selling on Allegro we cover the Allegro Ads formats, the auction mechanics, how to build campaigns and budgets, how to measure performance, and the situations in which advertising has no chance of helping.
The rules and amounts in this chapter come from Allegro’s official Help for sellers and from the Allegro price list, as of 31 July 2026. Allegro periodically changes minimum rates and fees, so confirm the numbers in the price list and in the ads.allegro.pl panel before you set a budget.
Three advertising formats in Allegro Ads
Allegro Ads is not one product but three mechanisms with different purposes and different billing. Your choice of format determines what you pay for and what you can expect from a campaign.
| Format | Billing | Where it appears | What it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sponsored offers | CPC (per click) | Search results, offer pages, the left column of results, the homepage and category pages | Selling specific offers |
| Display advertising | CPM (per 1,000 impressions) | Top and bottom of results, offer page, left column, search suggestions, homepage | Brand and category visibility |
| External campaigns (Google network) | CPC | Google results and Google Shopping | Traffic from outside Allegro to your offers |
Two things are easy to trip over when planning. Display advertising works only on allegro.pl, so if you sell on allegro.cz or allegro.sk you are left with sponsored offers. And a Google network campaign starts with a delay: Allegro allows up to 3 business days to check whether the offers meet Google Ads policies. If you are planning a launch for a specific date, build that into the schedule.
Display advertising comes in three creative variants: a template ad (dynamically inserting your offers), a banner ad and a responsive banner that adapts to the device. Creatives require graphic design, and using a brand logo requires proof of rights to the trademark.
What exactly you pay for: CPC, dynamic CPC and CPM
Allegro Ads bills in three models, and the difference matters, because only one of them is fully predictable.
- CPC: you pay only for a click on the ad, not for its impression. You set a maximum gross bid per click.
- Dynamic CPC: Allegro adjusts the bid to the chance of a sale. The higher the probability of a purchase, the higher the bid, up to twice the amount you set, with the average meant to match the value you entered.
- CPM: applies to display advertising. You pay per 1,000 impressions, regardless of clicks.
Minimum daily budgets differ depending on where you want to appear:
- PLN 3 for sponsored offers displayed on Allegro,
- PLN 10 for the Google network alone and for the Allegro plus Google option,
- PLN 15 for display advertising,
- CZK 15 on allegro.cz and EUR 2 on allegro.sk.
Allegro adds campaign charges to your sales settlements, and it bills the Allegro Ads service itself daily based on data from three days earlier. In practice that means the balance in the panel and the balance in your settlements do not have to agree to the day.
How the auction works and what really raises your cost per click
When a buyer types a query, your sponsored offer enters an auction against the competition’s offers. Allegro settles it by taking into account your maximum CPC bid and the quality of the ad. Quality describes how well the ad answers the buyer’s search, and among the factors affecting it Allegro lists the offer’s impression and sales history, the quality of the image and the product’s price.
Three consequences that change how you set bids:
- You will usually pay less than your maximum bid, but never less than the minimum rate in force in that category.
- The minimum rate depends on the category and the market. For orientation: in the change Allegro announced for 15 October 2024, minimum rates on allegro.pl sat between PLN 0.40 and 0.60 in most categories. Check the current values in the price list, because Allegro changes them.
- Market factors affect the cost too: the offer’s popularity, demand for advertising at that moment and the ad’s effectiveness.
Since ad quality depends among other things on sales history, the image and the price, the cheapest lever in Allegro Ads is not the bid but the quality of the offer itself. Raising CPC on a weak offer buys you impressions you will not convert into sales. That is a conclusion drawn from the auction mechanics Allegro describes, not a separate platform rule.
Campaign structure, offer groups and budgets
You create a sponsored offers campaign in the ads.allegro.pl panel. You pick the offers to advertise in four ways: advertise everything, set filtering rules (by title, category or price), select bestsellers, or choose offers manually. Rules have a practical advantage: new offers that meet the condition fall into the group automatically, without you having to remember to add them.
How the budget works
A daily budget is mandatory and a total budget is optional (once it runs out, the campaign stops). You can also set an end date or advertise continuously. The daily budget itself is flexible in both directions:
- Up to 130% on a single day, when interest in your products is higher than usual.
- Settlement across the week: spend will not exceed the daily budget multiplied by the number of days.
- Unused budget carries over to following days within a 7-day window.
How to split offers into groups
Allegro recommends putting several related offers into an ad group rather than a single one, because the system can then distribute the budget sensibly. Groups are worth splitting by category, price bracket, popularity or seasonality, because only then does differentiating bids and budgets mean anything. Statistics appear within 24 hours of launching a campaign, but Allegro recommends testing for at least a week before you draw conclusions.
Targeting and keywords: this is where Allegro differs from Amazon
This is where habits from another platform most often get transferred by mistake. In sponsored offers on Allegro you do not build your own list of phrases with match types, the way you do in manual campaigns on Amazon. You choose offers and a bid, and the Allegro algorithm matches them to buyers’ queries based on the offer content.
Practical conclusions from that difference:
- Your keyword research is the offer. It is the title and attributes of the offer that decide which queries you even enter the auction for. Optimizing titles is advertising work here, not just content work.
- Phrases and exclusions are set in display advertising. There you specify keywords and negative keywords, can select up to 15 categories, and decide between precise reach (a narrower group) or extended reach (broader awareness).
- In the Google network, product data is what counts. The fuller and less ambiguous your offer data, the better the chance of correct matching on Google’s side. That is our recommendation, not a rule described in the price list.
If you run campaigns on both platforms, it helps to know that the account logic differs: we describe the full mechanics of phrases and match types in a separate guide to Amazon advertising. Copying an account structure one-to-one usually ends in disappointment.
A high cost per click starts in the offer
Allegro scores ad quality partly on the image, the price and the sales history of the offer, so a weak product card raises your bid in every campaign. Tidying offers up is a separate piece of work we take on.
Measurement: ROAS, cost of sale and the 7-day window
For sponsored offers the Allegro Ads panel shows a set of metrics with precise definitions:
- Impressions and clicks plus CTR, the ratio of clicks to impressions.
- CPC: the average gross price per click (total cost divided by the number of clicks).
- Cost: the gross total of costs generated by the sponsored offer.
- ROAS: revenue generated after a click on the sponsored offer per PLN 1 of spend.
- Interest: the number of offer follows and add-to-cart actions within 7 days.
- Units sold and sales value: counted within 7 days of a click on the sponsored offer.
That last point matters more than it seems. If sales are attributed to a click for a week, then data from the most recent days is always understated. A campaign judged on Monday based on the weekend looks worse than it is. Hence the working rhythm: base changes on closed periods, not on the last 48 hours.
Cost of sale (the share of ad spend in revenue from ads) is simply the inverse of ROAS. A ROAS of 5.0 corresponds to a cost of sale of 20%. The metric on its own says nothing, though, until you know the threshold: the maximum acceptable cost of sale follows from the margin left after commission, the Smart! surcharge and returns. We break that part down in the chapter on Allegro fees and commissions, and we describe the method of calculating the threshold in more depth in our piece on how to calculate product margin and profitability.
Five mistakes that burn budget fastest
- Advertising a weak offer. The image, the price and the sales history all feed into ad quality, so a weak offer raises the cost and lowers your chance of winning the auction. Advertising exposes the problem, it does not fix it.
- Cannibalising your own offers. Paying for clicks on products that were selling organically anyway, and advertising several variants of the same product in parallel. Cost goes up, sales do not. This is our recommendation based on observing accounts, not a rule described by Allegro.
- No negative keywords in display advertising. It is the only place where you can cut off irrelevant queries. Skipping exclusions turns a CPM budget into a fee for a random audience.
- Judging a campaign after two days. Allegro recommends a test of at least a week, and the attribution window is 7 days anyway. Conclusions from 48 hours are statistically empty.
- Confusing ROAS with profit. ROAS counts revenue, not margin. A campaign with a ROAS of 4.0 can be loss-making if less than 25% of revenue is left after commission, the Smart! surcharge and returns.
When advertising on Allegro will not help
The honest part, which advertising materials rarely cover. Allegro Ads increases an offer’s visibility, but it does not change the reasons a buyer is not choosing it. Advertising will not rescue a situation in which:
- The price is out of line with the market. On Allegro the comparison is instant, and price also feeds into ad quality.
- The offer lacks the delivery option the buyer expects. Missing the Smart! badge when competing offers have it lowers conversion regardless of your CPC bid.
- The offer page does not answer the buyer’s questions. Gaps in attributes, weak images and a terse description mean you are paying for a click that never stood a chance of ending in a purchase.
- You have no stock. A campaign for a product that is about to run out is cost without revenue.
- Your seller account and its quality are struggling. The sales quality level affects access to the Smart! badge, among other things, and that badge affects the conversion of the traffic you paid for.
Offer and delivery first, then price, and only at the end advertising. The reverse order “works” too, just more expensively: you pay for traffic to learn things the offer shows for free.
FAQ: Allegro Ads
How much does advertising on Allegro cost?
You pay for clicks (sponsored offers, Google network) or for 1,000 impressions (display advertising). The minimum daily budget is PLN 3 for sponsored offers on Allegro, PLN 10 for the Google network and PLN 15 for display advertising. The minimum cost per click depends on the category and the market, and you will find the current level in the Allegro price list.
Do you set keywords in sponsored offers?
Not the way you do in Amazon PPC. In sponsored offers you choose offers and a bid, and the Allegro algorithm handles the match to queries. Keywords and negative keywords are set in display advertising.
How long should I wait before optimizing a campaign?
Allegro recommends testing for at least a week. On top of that, sales are attributed to a click for 7 days, so results from recent days are always incomplete. Base your changes on closed periods.
Can I advertise Allegro offers outside Allegro?
Yes. In a sponsored offers campaign you can choose the Google network as a placement, which gives your offers a chance to appear in Google results and Google Shopping. The minimum daily budget is then PLN 10, and the campaign starts within 3 business days of launch, after a check against Google Ads policies.
Does advertising improve an offer’s organic position on Allegro?
Allegro does not describe such a mechanism in its Help for sellers, so you should not assume it. What is known is that an offer’s sales history feeds into ad quality and therefore affects its results in the advertising auction. Those are two different things and they are worth keeping apart.
Advertising is one element, not a separate project
Allegro Ads works best when it is the last step rather than the first: after the offer, delivery and price are in order. Then the budget adds to sales instead of masking problems you cannot outbid anyway.
At Amazonway, running campaigns is part of the WP 04 Momentum stage of the WAYPOINT framework: day-to-day account management in which bid optimization goes hand in hand with work on offers, prices and delivery, with results reported continuously. If you are looking for support on the advertising side only, we also run marketplace advertising campaigns as a standalone service, while full Allegro sales management is described on the platform page. We do not promise a particular ROAS or position, because they depend on the category, the competition and the margin, none of which we control.
