Seedlight · technical care
Store maintenance and growth in a steady release rhythm
An online store without technical care decays quietly: creeping load times, unpatched vulnerabilities, integrations that broke after an update. Our technology brand Seedlight runs store maintenance and growth on a retainer: a steady release rhythm, performance and security monitoring, and a development backlog that turns ideas into shipped features, not a wish list.

How it works
Why a store needs a rhythm, not an ambulance
Most store owners call a developer when something stops working. It is the most expensive possible model: an outage in season costs sales, and quick patches pile up debt that eventually gets repaid with interest. Ongoing care flips the logic: updates and backups happen in the background, monitoring catches problems before customers see them.
The second half of the retainer is development. We run a backlog: ideas and needs land on a shared list, we prioritise them by sales impact and ship them in regular releases. The store gains features every cycle, and you know what arrives when.
We primarily maintain platforms we build at Seedlight, but we also take over stores from other vendors: after a code and infrastructure audit, with an honest assessment of what needs fixing before we take responsibility.

FAQ
Questions about Store maintenance & growth
Will you take over a store built by another company?
Yes, after a code and infrastructure audit. The audit says honestly what state the store is in and what must be fixed before we take responsibility; sometimes the recommendation is modernisation instead of maintaining debt.
How does the retainer work?
You pay a fixed monthly fee for a guaranteed hour pool and reaction times. The pool goes first to store health (updates, monitoring), the rest to backlog development. Unused hours carry over within a reasonable range.
How fast do you react to an outage?
Critical failures (the store not selling) have the shortest reaction time defined in the contract; monitoring usually catches them before anyone on your team reports. Smaller bugs go into the nearest release.
Do you also build new features within the retainer?
Yes, that is half the value of this service. We run a backlog of ideas, prioritise by sales impact and ship in regular releases: from UX fixes to new integrations and AI features.
What technologies do you work with?
We are most at home with platforms we build at Seedlight (a modern stack with an open source core, no dependence on expensive SaaS), but we also maintain stores on popular open source platforms. Scope confirmed after the audit.
