How it works

What is Amazon PPC?

Amazon Pay-Per-Click (PPC) is an advertising system where you pay only for clicks on your ads. There are three main formats: Sponsored Products (ads for individual offers in search results and on product pages), Sponsored Brands (banners with your logo and selected products) and Sponsored Display (retargeting ads that also work outside Amazon).

A well-run PPC campaign increases offer visibility, drives sales and improves organic ranking. Amazon uses a second-price model: you pay marginally more than your competitor, and display order is decided by bid, relevance and CTR.

You launch campaigns with a daily budget and manage them flexibly, e.g. activating them only at peak hours or matching them to the season. A typical strategy splits into three phases: Launch, Scale and Protect, each with its own goal and structure.

Why invest in Amazon PPC

Effective Amazon advertising is not just more clicks: it is real sales growth, faster ranking gains and full control over profitability.

How working with Amazonway on PPC looks

A process built on data, experience and regular optimization: lower ACOS, higher ROAS and stable sales growth in five key stages.

  1. Account and business goals audit

We start with a comprehensive analysis of your Amazon Seller or Vendor account. We check which campaigns are active, how the account is structured, how budgets are allocated and what the current results are (ACOS, TACOS, ROAS). Together we define goals, e.g. growing sales of specific SKUs, entering new markets or preparing the account for Q4.

  2. Keyword and competitor research

We use tools such as Helium 10, Brand Analytics and our own databases to identify the most profitable phrases with high purchase intent. We also analyse competitors: which products they promote, where they place ads and what their search shares are. On that basis we build a strategy that captures traffic from your rivals.

  3. Campaign structure design

Based on the goals and analysis we build a clear campaign structure. We separate manual from automatic campaigns, create dedicated ad groups for the best-converting keywords and products, and deploy defensive campaigns on your own ASINs. All of it so results can be managed precisely and effectiveness maximised.

  4. Cost and performance optimization

We analyse campaign data daily and adjust CPC bids at the level of placement, keywords and devices. We test different match types, optimise scheduling and roll out new Sponsored Brands creatives.

  5. Monitoring, reporting and scaling

You get clear reports with the key metrics: ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, Buy Box share, PPC sales volume and per-campaign effectiveness. On that basis we plan next steps: raising budgets on the most effective campaigns, extending targeting with new phrases and testing new ad formats (e.g. Sponsored Display or Video Ads).

The most common Amazon PPC mistakes

Even the biggest ad budget will not deliver if campaigns are badly planned or unoptimized. These are the errors we see most often.

  • Overly generic keywords

Advertising on phrases like "shoes" or "kitchen" devours budgets and rarely converts. The match to user intent is missing, and intent is what decides the sale.

  • No negative keywords

Without exclusions the system shows ads on irrelevant queries. The result? High costs, low CTR and wasted clicks.

  • Unreadable campaign structure

Mixing products, goals and keywords in one campaign makes analysis impossible. A frequent cause of losing control over ACOS and ROAS.

  • No placement optimization

Not every placement works the same. Ignoring the difference between Top of Search and product pages wastes the ad’s potential and budget.

  • Infrequent bid management

In the dynamic Amazon PPC environment bids should react daily. Manual tuning once a week is not enough to compete.

  • Ignoring seasonal data

Prime Day, Black Friday and Q4 are key sales moments. Not planning campaigns for them means losing the chance for major growth.

FAQ

Questions about Amazon PPC

How much does Amazon PPC management cost?

We bill a base monthly fee plus a commission on generated sales. After a free audit we prepare a detailed quote matched to account size, product category and the planned advertising activities.

What ad budget do I need at the start?

The recommended minimum is around €1,000 per month, so the PPC campaigns can gather enough data. On that basis we can optimise ACOS, grow ROAS and scale sales.

How fast will I see results?

First optimization effects usually show after 2–3 weeks, and the full impact on ACOS, ROAS and sales after 30–60 days. The pace depends on category, budget and listing quality.

Do I need Brand Registry to use PPC?

No. Sponsored Products are available to everyone. Brand Registry does unlock extras: Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display and more advanced reporting.

Can I keep running part of the campaigns myself?

Yes. We cooperate flexibly: you can run some campaigns yourself while we handle the rest or advise within consultations.

Can I commission a campaign for a specific goal or period?

Yes, we also run one-off projects, e.g. a new SKU launch, a seasonal campaign (Q4, Prime Day, Black Friday) or entry into a new market. A good way to get a quick result or test our approach in practice.
